Do you know how you breathe? Well it’s automatic movement of our body, without any conscious effort from us. It is estimated that about 30-50% adults breathe through their mouth, instead of nose. Thus, it is important to pay attention to how you are breathing. Proper nose or nasal breathing is one of the most important and basics of breathing practices to help our overall wellness.

Our nose and mouth administer two ways of breathing, both leading to oxygen supply into our lungs. However, most of us are unaware of the differences between them. Whereas breathing from the mouth indicates health problems and many times risks too. Breathing from the mouth leads to bad odor, inhaling more bad air, asthma, tooth decay, sleep apnea, snoring etc. A Healthline feature outlines some of these nasal breathing benefits and its efficacy over mouth breathing.
